Mezzo-Soprano

Jennifer Eckes (she/her) has been singing professionally in the Twin Cities region for over two decades, whether on stage in theatrical productions or as a soloist in concerts and cabarets. She has performed in leading roles and ensembles alike, from operas to rock musicals, with notable companies including the Ordway Center, Artistry Theater, Plymouth Playhouse, Skylark Opera, Mill City Summer Opera, and over 30 productions with the Minnesota Opera. This past year, she sang in the Minnesota Opera’s world premiere of EDWARD TULANE and in DalekoArts’ production of the musical BRIGHT STAR. A versatile vocalist, Eckes has found many musical revues, concerts and cabaret opportunities throughout the region, at venues such as the Bloomington Center for the Arts, Hastings Arts Center, Hanifl Performing Arts Center, Phipps Center for the Arts, Bryant-Lake Bowl, Honey Lounge, Crooners, Brix Music Café, Nicollet Island Inn, and the MetroNOME. Jennifer holds a B.A. in vocal performance from Luther College and was twice a fellow of the Cabaret Conference at Yale University, where she developed her passion for the Great American Songbook and the art of song interpretation. This is her third year joining SCVO’s Opera on the River concert, and she will continue to curate their Cabaret Night series this season as well.
