Margaret Jane Wray has been internationally recognized as a brilliant jugendlich-dramatisch soprano and has been heard in the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Milan, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Berlin State Opera, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, L’Opéra Bastille, Frankfurt Opera and L’Opéra de Nice. She has won special acclaim for her Wagnerian portrayals, especially Sieglinde in Die Walkure. A prolific concert artist, Margaret has performed alongside Kurt Masur, Daniel Barenboim, Maris Janssons, Seiji Ozawa, Kwun Chung, James Conlon, Tony Pappano, and James Levine, and with orchestras include The Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, National Symphony, Boston Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony. Margaret has adjudicated for the Metropolitan Opera Auditions for over 10 years. She currently sings in a professional quartet and local choir and teaches voice performance at the Phipps Center for the Performing Arts. She has lived in Hudson with her family for 21 years.
